The Howick 4-H Camping Club spent a weekend at Galbraith Park. They had nice weather for their activities and all members reported a good time. Prior to this, they met at the Feldskov's to practice setting up tents, camp fires and planning for the weekend.

The 4-H Rabbit Club recently met at the Wilken's, where they learned to identify the breeds of rabbits. They had a fun time building small structures for an obstacle course to train their rabbits.

Members of the sheep club traveled to Elora Road Meats, where Steve explained the procedures for preparing the lambs for the food market.  He cut up a carcass, explaining to the members the various cuts and how they are used in preparing a tasty meal.

Welcome to new leaders Denice Glaze, Becky Bosch, Stacey Feldskov, Tracy Douglas, Todd Templeman and Scott Price.

“Learn to Do by Doing" 2013

2013 proved to be a very successful year for introducing 4H back into our community.  With the help of six leaders, many individuals and lots of excited kids they created Cloverbuds and Explorers as part of the 4H program.

Below are just a few pictures of the 4H activities and a bunch of smiling faces.

Contact Marion Feldskov (335-3269) or Darcey Garniss; [email protected] for news about 2014 Cloverbuds or check back to this page for more news about 4H 2014.

Explorers created the Fairs road side display with the theme 'U R the Apple of my eye'.  Oh yes, and it won FIRST place :)!  Great Job Explorers.

It stopped raining long enough to get a picture before moving it to the road for all to see.

Dakota needed attention too and the girls didn't mind at all.

An Explorer 4H meeting isn't quite complete without a horse drawn wagon ride in which all participants took turns driving the horses, with supervision of course.
